The Senior Tax Specialist
is responsible for all aspects of Tax Filing Service. This encompasses
preparing interim and quarterly deposits and filings, reconciling
quarter-to-date and year-to-date discrepancies, responding to agency inquiries
and maintaining all reports, records and files. The position requires
excellent organizational skills, extreme attention to detail and a thorough understanding
of accounting and/or payroll tax filing principles and related laws.
Taxes are a highly sensitive subject for clients. In addition, the
potential penalties for failure to file and/or deposit are extensive.
Therefore, the Sr. Tax Specialist’s accuracy has a significant potential impact
on client’s perception of QTS and the company’s financials. Filing and
deposit errors can result in lost clients, penalties, interest assessments, and
loss of prospective clients.
The Sr. Tax Specialist has a minimum of 5 years payroll processing and
payroll tax experience for a large employer, possesses a working knowledge of
all tax legislative issues and a general knowledge of payroll laws, production
functions, and software applications. He/she is PC literate, highly
organized, and possesses good verbal and excellent written communication
position has no initial direct reporting responsibility; however, there is an
opportunity for future advancement within the Tax Department.
